Fitness Works | Try It! - Practical fitness tips for gym starters

Fitness Works | TRY IT

Leading a sedentary lifestyle is very dangerous to an individual; it may cause several diseases if proper measures aren’t taken. Visiting the fitness gym is a cost effective and practical way of keeping the body fit and healthy. However, there are certain steps that should be considered when it’s your first time to visit a training center.

People are advised to do a few warm-ups before going full throttle into working out, this would help ease your muscles and also release unnecessary tension. Also remember to end the training with some cool down workouts. This shall play a huge role in reducing tendon injuries, plus another significant step to being fit is taking considerable amounts of water for hydration.

Preparatory exercises assist in building up body temperatures, therefore improving blood flow to all parts of the system including muscles and brain. You may warm the body by slowly jogging around the gymnasium, or using a slow set treadmill for less than ten minutes. When the whole body is prepared, one would prevent disastrous injuries that are caused by stiff joints.

Another significant aspect when taking aerobic exercise is stretching the muscles to keep them supple, extend your hamstrings before undertaking any of these workouts. This is the surest way of reducing cases of muscle damage.

You should learn the best postures for each session before starting, there are certain positions that can be assumed to prevent torn ligaments, muscle wear and back aches. For instance, when using cardio appliances always ensure that there’s a wall in which to stand by. As for free weight fitness equipments, the spine should laterally be aligned to the neck or lower tailbone. Furthermore, a holistic motion range can be maintained to improve on muscular strength. When performing any cardio training, one must always take high strides using their legs. In most cases, the body is extended full length so as to prevent cramping especially when lifting heavy fitness weights.

Don’t focus on a single part of the body and then ignore others, it may result to muscular imbalances that may speed up injuries. Remember to carry a bottle of water when visiting the fitness center; this would help with replenishing fluids that may have been lost from excess sweating. After completing a day’s workout, try to cool down by performing a few deep breathing exercises or even long stretches. Afterwards, your body would recover and continue working on an optimum level for the best possible health results. Serious gym training should only be considered after seeking consultation with a physician.

  1. Great guide for any gym newcomers, would've loved this when I first started.

One point I would like to add for any gym newbies is that, although a lot of the other people may look scary and intimidating never be scared to ask them for help, advice or even a spot. Must would feel honoured that you've asked them. (just make sure you take what they say with a pinch of salt, not everyone knows what their on about.)

But certainly keep it up Mike good blog will be visiting again.
